THE KAASWAG

De Waag in Gouda is one of Holland's most important cultural monuments. Designed in 1668 by the leading architect of the times,Pieter Post and standing on the market square this notable building was once the scene of constant activity as the cheeses were brought in and out of the six entrances to be weighed.The outstandig example from the Dutch Golden Age now houses a cheese museum.
